Warning . . .

Beware of training offered in the field of forensic art at "academies" that result in "certifications" in various facets of forensic art. There are currently classes being offered by "instructors" with little or no experience in the field, based on processes and teaching formats taken from legitimate sources of instruction. These "instructors" understand that the addition of the word "certification" lends the course work a degree of legitimacy and can thus charge more tuition for the class. Certifications awarded in this way are simply a sales ploy, and hold very little or no legitimate value after the training is complete. Questions regarding potential legitimacy issues with forensic art training you are considering can be addressed by delegates of the Forensic Art Division of the International Association for Identification many of whom can be contacted through www.theaia.org.
